Artful Bras: Hooters, Melons and Boobs, Oh My! A Quilt Guild's Fight Against Breast Cancer

**Pre-Order**
In an effort to promote breast cancer awareness, this book celebrates the Artful Bra challenge of the Quilters of South Carolina quilt guild. Each participant took a padded underwire bra and covered it entirely, with everything from fabric to feather to fringe.

The result was the Artful Bra exhibit that traveled to various places in South Carolina, raising money for the Best Chance Network, a program that offers free mammograms to uninsured women. The impact was huge, however, with the help of the Internet. Emails with photos of the bras were forwarded all over the world – a success for the guild in spreading awareness about the disease.

Inside, you’ll find photographs of each of the 50 decorated bras with fun names such as “Hooters,” “Two Cans,” “Support Your Favorite Boob” and “Look At Them Ther’ Watermelons.” You’ll also read the designers’ stories about the inspiration behind the designs, and how they made them.

Proceeds from the book will be donated to the Best Chance Network.

Just thought you might like to know. I did add a few links in case you needed to pre-order all of your Christmas Presents.

Massage Possible???

So many of you have requested that we try to resume massage therapy appointments during our retreats. Just to let you know that we are working on that possibility. We have some 'leads' on a new therapist and will be talking with her about coming out to 'Quilt Camp' for a day.

Stay tuned.

Fall Quilt Camp

Something arrived in the mail this week for Fall Quilt Camp. What would it be? Gee, I can't tell you, but they sure are cute! I just love them!!. Well, that's just to let you know that we are working on Fall Quilt Camp. How many years have we been doing October now? 3? 4? Help me out here, I am not real sure. How many years have Sherry and I been doing our February retreat? Ellen Simon started the February retreat how many years ago?

Just so this post will have a photo--can't blog without pictures:
This is Beth with her One Block Wonder. I think she has made about a dozen of these since Spring Quilt Camp.
This is a dissappearing nine patch that I think belongs to Pat. We have done alot of these also. So simple, but so graphic.
Hope you have a good week.

She is also working it out so that you can register online and then send in your check for your registration. The new look will be wonderful and we welcome your input into what is done.

See you soon,

It's Been a Long Time

Nothing like a visit to Quilt Camp.
All of these pictures are from Spring Quilt Camp February 2009.

The names have been with-held to protect the innocent.

That doesn't mean that I couldn't be bribed to identify them.

One of the really fun things that we did at camp was to play - Left, Right, Center- using dice and 2 and 1/2 inch strips. There were some big winners and we decided that we would play again at another time.
Next Quilt Camp will be held:
October 29-November1, 2009
That will be Halloween weekend. What do you think that I will come up with for that weekend? Who knows, but the brain is already working on it.
Registration information is already on the web page : www.juststitchinretreats.com so, go ahead and reserve your space.
